Bonus Content: Chevron Sells Power to Microsoft. Geothermal Is Unpriced.
Editor’s Note: Last year, Larry Benedict’s readers had the chance at a 279% return on cash – roughly 18x the S&P 500. He did it the same way he’s done it for over 40 years: by getting ahead of money on the move. He now believes the largest move he’s tracked is heading straight for your retirement account. He explains below.
Dear Reader,
Executive Order 14330 just did something no order has done before…
It unlocked Wall Street’s private goldmine – for 70 million everyday Americans with a 401(k).
For decades, this corner of the market was reserved for the rich.
And behind that locked door, they were earning 12% a year… while your 401(k) earned 9% in the S&P.
That gap sounds small – but it’s not.
A $250,000 investment grows into $2.3 million for most investors – but into $4.3 million for the wealthy.
That’s almost double.
And it’s the door the White House just opened…
Hedge fund legend Larry Benedict says as much as $1 trillion in retirement money is about to pour through it – a shift he calls the “Trillion-Dollar Transfer.”
He’s found the one ticker positioned to catch that money as it floods in…
And he’ll name it for you right here – free.
Regards,

P.S. The wealthy didn’t earn that 12% by being smarter – they earned it through access you were denied. That access is now yours.
Chevron Sells Power to Microsoft. Geothermal Is Unpriced.
Chevron hit a 52-week high of $217.78 this week. Wall Street is debating whether about 21 times trailing earnings is rich for an oil major. The more productive question: what is the deep-subsurface optionality worth, and why isn’t it in the multiple?
The market knows Project Kilby. Chevron’s June agreement with Microsoft locked in a 20-year PPA to deliver approximately 2.67 gigawatts of natural gas-fired power to a Reeves County, Texas data center, with first delivery targeted for 2028. Q2 adjusted earnings hit $6.06 per share, and free cash flow reached $18.1 billion. The Microsoft deal got a bullet point in the press release. It has not materially shifted how analysts value the company.
What received less attention is Chevron’s parallel geothermal program. CEO Mike Wirth told the WSJ CEO Council in December 2025 that geothermal aligns directly with the company’s strengths in subsurface engineering, deep-well drilling, and reservoir interpretation. Chevron holds an active DOE Enhanced Geothermal Systems pilot in Sonoma County, adjacent to The Geysers, the world’s largest geothermal complex. It has worked with Foro Energy, which is developing high-power laser drilling to reduce geothermal well costs, and its joint venture with Baseload Capital has been testing waste-heat co-production from oilfield infrastructure since July 2022.
The timing has shifted. Fervo Energy’s Cape Station in Utah declared commercial operations on September 30, becoming one of the first utility-scale EGS projects to reach that milestone. Fervo then signed a 396 MW PPA with Google, with Google holding an option to expand its offtake by approximately 600 MW, for a total of nearly 1 gigawatt by June 2030. The site has been described as permitted for up to 2 gigawatts, with potential beyond that based on third-party engineering work.
Chevron’s position differs. Pure-play developers raise project finance deal by deal. Chevron carries a roughly $430 billion market cap, a $7.12 forward annual dividend, and full-year capex guidance of $18 to $19 billion. It has the drilling expertise, the reservoir science, and the direct hyperscaler contracting model already in place. If it executes EGS at scale, it competes for the same offtake agreements Fervo is signing, from a far stronger balance sheet.
Scenario Modeling
Bull case: Chevron announces a second hyperscaler power deal at or near October 30 earnings, citing geothermal baseload capacity. CVX moves toward the Street’s consensus target. Fervo’s FRVO multiple compresses on the competitive read-through.
Base case: Q3 EPS lands near the consensus, moderating from Q2’s $6.06 as Brent eases. Hess synergies of $1.5 billion in annual run-rate savings and the dividend floor keep the stock range-bound. The geothermal program stays a research line item.
Bear case: Brent slides below $95, compressing upstream margins sharply. CVX already trades at a premium multiple versus the sector. A guidance miss at that valuation gap is the clean downside path. The geothermal optionality provides no near-term earnings support.
Active Trader Framework
October 30 is the nearest hard catalyst. Monitor the call for any language on additional power agreements or geothermal capital allocation. CVX has held above its 50-day moving average through mid-October; key support sits at the prior breakout zone. A guidance miss risks a gap lower given the premium multiple. The subsurface geothermal angle is a longer-horizon positioning consideration. The drilling edge Chevron has quietly assembled below the surface is not yet in the price.
