Featured: CRWV Is Gapping Up. Here’s the Trade Plan.
Fellow Investor,
Most traders don’t know it, but there’s a window of time every day that has a history of predictable price movements…
And I’ve developed a way to profit from them.
I’m not talking about picking up a few bucks here or there…
The kind of money you can make with my strategy is truly astonishing.
In fact, one user who I’ll call Jim, let me know he made…
- $6,702 in his first month
- $4,710 in his second month
- $12,475 in his third month.
Now, of course, I can’t promise you’ll have the same level of success…
But it wouldn’t shock me one bit if you did… or even made more than that…
Because Jim raked in those paydays without having any special advantages over you…
Or any other regular trader.

CRWV Is Gapping Up. Here’s the Trade Plan.
Market Snapshot
The broader market is navigating a crosscurrent environment as of August 12. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq have both recovered meaningfully from their spring lows, with tech and AI-adjacent names leading the rebound. Volatility has compressed from the elevated readings seen in late Q1, but the VIX remains elevated enough to reward disciplined entry over reactive chasing. Treasury yields are firm. The 10-year is holding in a range that keeps pressure on unprofitable growth companies with heavy debt loads, which is the single most important macro context for reading the CoreWeave trade this week.
Sector rotation favors AI infrastructure and semiconductor names over defensive sectors. Institutional flows have been returning to high-beta tech on any sign of earnings confirmation, which is exactly what CoreWeave delivered after the close on August 11. The environment for the next one to five sessions tilts toward momentum continuation in high-conviction earnings movers, with the caveat that earnings gaps in heavily shorted names can reverse quickly if follow-through volume fades on day two.
CoreWeave is the clearest single-name opportunity in the market this morning. Here is the full framework.
Why CRWV Is in Focus
CoreWeave reported Q2 2026 results on August 11 that triggered a roughly 14% after-hours surge. The print was a genuine beat across the metrics that matter most to active traders right now: the adjusted loss per share of $1.03 came in well below the consensus expectation of approximately $1.20, and revenue of $2.58 billion topped the $2.56 billion estimate on 112% year-over-year growth. That combination of top-line acceleration and bottom-line outperformance is the catalyst profile that sustains multi-day moves rather than fading into the open.
But the setup here is more nuanced than a standard earnings gap. CRWV had been in a prolonged downtrend since its all-time closing high of $183.58 on June 20, 2025, losing more than 30% from its May 7 post-earnings close through Tuesday’s session. That means Tuesday’s bounce is happening from a technically oversold condition against a real fundamental catalyst, not from a position of strength. The distinction matters for how you structure the trade over the next several sessions.
Three additional developments from the Q2 report extend the catalyst window beyond a single session. First, the revenue backlog reached $104 billion at June 30, up from $99.4 billion at end of Q1, with an additional $25-plus billion in new commitments secured in early July, bringing the effective Q3 entry backlog to approximately $129 billion. Second, CoreWeave completed the first system-level validation of Nvidia’s Vera Rubin NVL72 platform, confirming it is first in line for the next-generation GPU architecture. Third, full-year 2026 revenue guidance was raised to $12.4 billion to $13.2 billion from a prior range of $12 billion to $13 billion. Each of these is a potential re-engagement catalyst over the next two to four sessions as analyst notes drop and institutional desks respond to the print.
Technical Picture
CRWV enters Wednesday’s session in a technically complex position. The stock has been in a well-defined downtrend since mid-June 2025, defined by a series of lower highs. Tuesday’s close, prior to the after-hours move, was sitting below both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages. The 14% after-hours gap, if it holds into the open, puts the stock back near the 50-day moving average, which becomes the first key technical level traders need to watch.
The structure of the trade sets up as follows:
- Gap resistance zone. The after-hours move fills into a prior consolidation area from late June and early July 2026. Watch whether the stock can hold the opening price level through the first 30 minutes of trading. A gap that holds above the prior day’s close through the first hour is a constructive signal for continuation.
- 50-day moving average. This is the first meaningful overhead resistance for any sustained recovery. A daily close above the 50-day on above-average volume would be a technically meaningful development that could attract additional institutional buying over the following sessions.
- Prior support at the May 7 post-earnings high. CRWV peaked on a prior earnings gap in May 2026 before reversing sharply. That level, roughly 30% above Tuesday’s pre-earnings close, represents a potential multi-week target if the fundamental recovery thesis gains traction. It is not a one-to-five-session target. It is the level that defines the full recovery trade.
- VWAP on day one. For active traders playing the gap, VWAP on Wednesday is the intraday reference point. A stock that holds above VWAP through mid-session after an earnings gap typically signals institutional participation. A break below VWAP within the first two hours on heavy volume is an early warning sign of gap fill risk.
- Key downside support. The prior range lows from late July 2026 represent the first meaningful support below the gap. If the stock fails to hold the gap-open area and reverses, that level is where traders should expect buyers to re-engage and where stop discipline becomes relevant.
Volume is the arbiter here. The prior downtrend in CRWV was accompanied by elevated selling volume and institutional distribution. For the gap to represent a genuine trend change rather than a one-session reflex bounce, Wednesday’s volume needs to exceed the 20-day average by a meaningful margin. If the stock gaps up on light volume, the probability of a partial gap fill by the end of the week increases substantially.
Momentum indicators on the weekly chart were approaching oversold readings before Tuesday’s print. A weekly close above Tuesday’s intraday high would generate a bullish signal on the weekly MACD for the first time since early 2026. That kind of weekly momentum shift attracts systematic funds and quantitative strategies that do not respond to earnings catalysts directly but do respond to technical signals. It is a secondary catalyst that develops over sessions two through five, not day one.
Catalyst Review
Active traders should categorize catalysts by their duration. Some catalysts matter for hours. Others matter for days. The CoreWeave Q2 report contains both.
Short-duration catalyst (hours to one session): The headline beat. Adjusted loss per share of $1.03 versus $1.20 expected. Revenue of $2.58 billion versus $2.56 billion expected. This is the fuel for the opening gap and the first hour of trading. It will be fully priced in quickly. Do not treat this as the reason to enter mid-afternoon on day one.
Medium-duration catalyst (two to four sessions): The analyst response cycle. CoreWeave’s Q2 beat will trigger price target revisions and rating changes from the sell side over the next 24 to 72 hours. When multiple analysts raise targets simultaneously on a heavily followed name, it creates sustained buying interest over several sessions, particularly from funds that track consensus target changes as an input. The adjusted operating income of $128 million versus the $66 million estimate is the number most likely to drive target revisions. That was a near-double beat on the metric analysts were most skeptical about entering the quarter.
Extended catalyst (four or more sessions): The Vera Rubin NVL72 validation and the $129 billion effective backlog entering Q3. Neither of these resolves within a week. The Vera Rubin validation is a supply chain positioning story that will influence how analysts model CoreWeave’s pricing power and contract renewal rates through 2027. The $129 billion backlog is large enough that any disclosure of conversion acceleration in Q3 could trigger a second catalyst event. These are the reasons a trader watching from the sidelines might structure a longer-duration position rather than a pure earnings-gap trade.
One additional catalyst deserves specific attention: the securities fraud class action filed in January 2026. This case alleges that CoreWeave and certain executives misled investors about the ability to meet customer demand and concealed data center delays tied to a third-party developer. It will not resolve this week, but any new development, whether a ruling, a settlement disclosure, or an amended complaint, could create rapid price movement independent of operating performance. Traders holding positions into the extended session should be aware of this headline risk.
564% or higher when the market doesn’t move?
There’s a program with a history of finding stock winners… on the market’s quietest days.
Feb. 18, 2025, was a day of no action.
Yet this algorithm recommended a stock that went up 610%.
Oct. 18, 2021, was another boring day.
But this software recommended a 564% winner that day.
April 10, 2023?
Another tame day, another big win.
790% since then in fact.
So how did it do it?
Trade Quality Assessment
| Factor | Reading | Signal |
|---|---|---|
| Trend | Downtrend since June 2025 highs. Gap potentially initiates trend reversal. Not yet confirmed. | Neutral / Watchlist |
| Momentum | Weekly MACD approaching bullish crossover. Daily RSI recovering from oversold zone. | Improving |
| Volume | Must confirm the gap on day one. Below-average volume on the gap open is a red flag. | Needs Confirmation |
| Relative Strength | CRWV has significantly underperformed the Nasdaq since May. Gap begins to close that gap. | Positive Shift |
| Catalyst Strength | Multi-session. EPS beat, backlog growth, raised guidance, Vera Rubin validation. | Strong |
| Risk | $35B debt, $640M quarterly interest, rising capex guide, legal overhang, Meta competition. | Elevated |
| Reward | Recovery toward May 7 post-earnings high. Analyst target upgrades over next 48-72 hours. | Meaningful |
| Short Interest | Stock was heavily shorted into earnings. Beat could trigger short-covering over sessions 2-3. | Tailwind |
Overall assessment: the catalyst is strong and multi-session, the momentum is shifting, and the short-covering dynamic adds fuel. The trend is not yet confirmed as reversed, and the elevated risk profile means position sizing and defined stop levels are not optional. This is a quality opportunity with real risk, not a clean breakout from a constructive base.
Tactical Trade Plan
The core idea. CRWV is in the early stages of a potential earnings-driven trend reversal. The catalyst is verified, multi-session, and capable of sustaining analyst attention through the end of the week. The stock was technically oversold before the print. The combination creates a setup worth structuring carefully rather than ignoring or chasing blindly.
Entry considerations. Gap-and-go momentum traders will be active in the first 15 to 30 minutes. The higher-probability entry for most active traders is not at the open but after the first 30-minute bar closes. If CRWV holds above its opening price through the first half-hour and volume is running above the 20-day average, the setup has confirmed basic institutional participation. An entry on the first constructive pullback to the opening-range support level reduces gap-fill risk without sacrificing meaningful participation in the multi-session move.
Key resistance levels to monitor. The 50-day moving average is the first overhead target and the first level where sellers who bought on a prior bounce will look to exit. A clean close above that level on strong volume is the signal that triggers the next leg. Above that, the late-June 2026 consolidation highs represent the next resistance zone before the stock enters the gap created by the May 7 earnings reversal.
Key support levels to respect. The gap-open area is the first line of defense. If CRWV spends more than two sessions below its Wednesday opening price, the gap-fill risk increases and the trade structure needs to be reassessed. The prior July range lows are where traders should consider reducing exposure if the fundamental thesis is not gaining traction in the price action.
Stop discipline. A stock gapping up 14% on a fundamental catalyst that includes a $640 million quarterly interest bill and rising capex guidance is not a situation where you hold through an extended reversal hoping for recovery. Define the maximum acceptable loss before entering and honor it. Gap fills in heavily leveraged, high-beta names can be swift.
Time horizon. For traders focused on the one-to-three-session window, the key event is whether day two and day three maintain the gap. For traders willing to hold four to five sessions, the analyst upgrade cycle and the short-covering dynamic are the additional tailwinds worth waiting for. Position size accordingly.
Risk Assessment
The risks here are not trivial and deserve more than a bullet list.
The capex guide moved higher again. CoreWeave raised annual capital spending guidance to $35 billion to $39 billion, up from a prior $31 billion to $35 billion ceiling. The upper end of the new range is $4 billion above where it was three months ago. For a company already carrying $35 billion in total debt, a rising capex guide is a reminder that the debt balance is not peaking. Any further guidance increase in Q3 would renew questions about the sustainability of the financing model.
The interest expense is $640 million per quarter. Every dollar of adjusted operating income CRWV produces is being consumed by interest expense, and then some. Adjusted operating income in Q2 was $128 million against $640 million in net interest expense. That gap closes only if the margin trajectory continues accelerating. If Q3 adjusted operating income disappoints relative to the pace implied by the full-year target of $960 million to $1.15 billion, the stock will give back Tuesday’s gains and then some.
Meta and SpaceX are building competing capacity. Meta holds approximately $35 billion in committed contracts with CoreWeave and is simultaneously developing its own cloud infrastructure business. SpaceX is already selling GPU compute to Anthropic and Google. The competitive risk is not priced into Tuesday’s earnings bounce. It will reassert itself in the price action over the coming weeks as sell-side analysts incorporate it into their models.
The legal overhang is real. The January 2026 securities fraud class action alleges misrepresentation about demand fulfillment capacity and concealed data center delays. Management said little about it on the earnings call. A surprise development in this case, whether a ruling, a discovery disclosure, or an expanded complaint, is an independent source of sudden price movement that no technical level can contain.
Gap fill risk on light volume. If Wednesday’s volume does not confirm the after-hours move, CRWV could spend the rest of the week slowly filling the gap. A partial gap fill of 40% to 50% of Tuesday’s after-hours move would still leave the stock higher than Monday’s close, but it would reset the technical picture and require a re-evaluation of the entry.
Trader’s Checklist: What to Monitor Over the Next Five Sessions
- Wednesday open volume. Does the gap-up open on volume that exceeds the 20-day average? Volume confirmation in the first 30 minutes is the single most important data point on day one.
- VWAP hold through mid-session. If CRWV remains above Wednesday’s VWAP from the open through early afternoon, institutional participation is real. A break below VWAP within the first two hours on heavy selling volume is an exit signal for gap traders.
- 50-day moving average test. Does CRWV attempt a close above its 50-day moving average during sessions one through three? A confirmed close above that level on above-average volume changes the technical classification from a bounce to a potential trend reversal.
- Analyst note flow over 24 to 72 hours. How many sell-side analysts raise price targets in response to the Q2 beat? The magnitude and number of revisions will influence institutional order flow on days two and three.
- Day two and three price action. Does the stock build on the gap or fade? An earnings-gap trade that holds above 80% of the day-one closing price through day three is a constructive signal. One that fades below 60% of the gap on rising volume is a distribution signal.
- Short-covering pattern. Was CRWV heavily short into earnings? Monitor short-interest data as it becomes available. If short covering is not yet complete by the end of day two, a squeeze can extend into days three and four.
- Any legal headline related to the January 2026 securities fraud class action. This is an independent risk that requires monitoring regardless of operating performance.
- Any new capex commentary from management. If management appears in press interviews or investor conferences in the days following earnings and signals further capex increases, that is a near-term negative for the stock regardless of the headline beat.
Price moves because expectations change. CoreWeave’s Q2 results changed expectations about margin trajectory, backlog durability, and competitive positioning in a direction that caught a significant portion of the market off-guard. The question active traders need to answer this week is not whether the quarter was good. It clearly was. The question is whether the expectation shift is durable enough to sustain momentum for two, three, or five sessions. The checklist above is how you answer that question in real time rather than guessing in advance.
Plan the trade. Manage the risk. Let the price action confirm.
