Bonus Content: Vertiv Just Posted 61% Revenue Growth. The Stock Dropped 14% Anyway.
Hey,
I’m going to do something that may seem a little out of the “norm” these days…
I’m going to give you my #1 trade setup. For free.
It’s the same one I used to find winners like:
- 113% on GOOGL in under 2 hours.
- 240% on META in a single session.
I call it the “Opening Bell Breakout.”
It’s one simple setup I look for every morning. When it shows up…
I simply take the trade. And by 10 AM, I’m done.
I’ve put all the details on how it works in a simple, no-fluff guide.
No credit card required. No strings attached.

Vertiv Just Posted 61% Revenue Growth. The Stock Dropped 14% Anyway.
There are moments when a company executes almost perfectly and the market sells it anyway. Vertiv delivered one of those moments in the days that followed its October 28 results.
Vertiv reported Q3 2026 adjusted earnings of $2.21 per share, beating the consensus estimate of $1.82 by $0.39, while quarterly revenue rose 61.2% year-over-year to $4.31 billion, well above the $3.75 billion estimate. Adjusted operating margin expanded 290 basis points to 25.2%, driven by operational leverage and manufacturing productivity. Management followed that with a full-year revenue guide of $14.65 billion at the midpoint, implying 38% organic growth, and set Q4 guidance at roughly $2.25 adjusted EPS and about $4.4 billion in revenue at the midpoint.
Shares then fell about 14% on Thursday, November 5, 2026. VRT closed November 4 at $205.55, then closed November 5 at $176.73. The stock’s 52-week high sits at $379.93. The divergence between operational results and price action is the trade worth analyzing.
Where the Fundamentals Actually Stand
Net sales through the first nine months of 2026 reached $10.24 billion, up 39.3% versus the same period last year. Gross margin expanded to 37.9% of sales from 35.3%, a structural shift driven by mix. Most new AI deployments are increasingly adopting direct-to-chip liquid cooling, where fluid circulates through cold plates attached to high-performance chips. Third-party market research continues to project rapid multi-year growth for liquid cooling, though estimates vary materially by methodology and base year.
Full-year adjusted diluted EPS is guided to $7.15 at the midpoint, up 70% versus 2025. Street models broadly look for another step-up in 2027 EPS power, with many consensus datasets clustering around the high-$9 range per share.
The Acquisition Stack and Manufacturing Build
Vertiv has not been passive. In April 2026 it acquired Strategic Thermal Labs, a specialist in cold-plate design and high-density thermal validation, to strengthen engineering capability at the interface between server-side liquid cooling and broader data center infrastructure. The company also expects to double chiller production capacity at its Tognana, Italy facility by the end of 2026, with a large-scale testing laboratory planned for early 2027. September 2026 brought an agreement to acquire UtilityInnovation Group, targeting faster time-to-power for AI data centers.
Vertiv is not the only company racing to own the liquid cooling stack. The coupling and manifold suppliers controlling 63–73% of the liquid loop market face the same rack-density inflection Vertiv is building around.
Scenario Modeling
Bull Case: Roughly the high-20s number of analysts in widely tracked consensus sets carry a bullish tilt, with an average price target around $339.07 and a high-end target near $427. If hyperscaler AI capex holds through 2027 and liquid cooling mix continues lifting margins, the gap between $176 and $339 can compress quickly.
Base Case: Organic order growth exceeded 100% year-over-year in Q3, with 55% organic revenue growth reflecting strong backlog execution. Backlog converts at the guided pace; full-year revenue lands near $14.65 billion; margin holds above 25%.
Bear Case: GLJ Research has been out with a Sell rating and a $187 target. Any softening in hyperscaler capital spending guidance hits order intake before it hits revenue, compressing the multiple before the fundamentals deteriorate.
Active Trader Framework
The mid-week breakdown created a structure worth monitoring closely. The dislocation can persist or resolve quickly, depending on whether November macro conditions tighten or ease risk appetite across high-beta industrials tied to AI infrastructure.
Key levels: the $200 round number held as initial support on November 4, then failed on November 5. A sustained inability to reclaim $195 to $200 keeps downside risk open toward the $175 to $180 area. Recovery back above $220 would reclaim post-earnings volume-weighted structure and shifts momentum back toward the $250 area that sits near the low end of many published targets.
Volatility is elevated. Position sizing relative to beta matters more here than in most industrials. The fundamentals are not in question. The price the market will pay for them, right now, is.
